Whopper

Ryan's posts are so informative aren't they – but let's get real – holy cow 10 pounds 7 oz – and that was last Friday.  I think Luke is going to beat his Uncle Michael's birth weight of 11 pounds (lucky me!)

But seriously, I wasn't hoping for a C-Section, kinda bummed in fact – all future children will now also be C-Sections, unless I can find an long lost doctor who will do a regular birth after a C.  But the doctor did say that I could have as many as 6 C-Sections, I assured him that would not be necessary 🙂

So we are getting ready for or happy chubby baby to arrive and at least now I know I won't have to wait until Valentine's Day – and sorry Mike, it isn't going to be Ground Hogs Day either, so I guess seeing his shadow won't be a problem.

  1. Holy moly! Welcome to the big baby club! Hopefully he won’t be that big. If it makes you feel any better (or maybe worse). They thought Ky would be almost 8# (turned out 10.2). I’ll pray that it’s opposite for you!!! I’ll keep you and Luke in my prayers!

  2. Kathy-
There is actually a movement towards regular childbirth after having had a c-section previously, so hopefully you will be able to do that on future babies. If not, then you will at least be comforted in knowing that many women have had many kids by c-section. My Grandmother had all 5 of her kids that way and that was 50 years ago.

And when in doubt, you can blame it on Ryan. He makes a good scapegoat sometimes. 🙂 You will all be in our prayers and we look forward to seeing pics of your Luke.

    Take care and God bless.

  3. I was telling Ryan on facebook we ended up with a c/s with our first son for suspected macrosomia, but our 2nd was a very successful vbac. It took a lot of advocating for ourselves and we had the help of a fabulous doula but it can be done!! Good luck!!

  4. How’s the bed rest? Do you have those books read yet? I’m sure you are almost done with Luke’s blanket. Been thinking about you a lot and sending prayers your way. I can’t wait to meet Luke!

  5. Kath,
You’re in my prayers! It is good to have a big healthy baby! It is hard though when things don’t go as "planned." My sister and my friend have had successful VBACs though, so I agree with the other posters! 🙂

And, enjoy the bed rest! Right now, that sounds perfectly wonderful. 🙂
    Love to you all,
    Sara 🙂
