Sorry about the delay – it's been crazy here – finally got some free time to post the details!
Luke was born at 8:08 AM via C-Section and is 10 pounds 2 ounces and 22 inches in length.
Luke & Kathy are doing great! We'll post more pics soon!
Tomorrow's the day that Luke will arrive. It'll be a nice early morning as we need to be at the hospital by 5:30 AM – I don't even get up that early for hunting so this kid better realize how important he is! The C-section is scheduled for 7:30 AM, so by midday I should be able to put some photos up with the details!!!
Kathy's dad was kind enough to point out that January 28th is the day that the NFL accepted the request to join the league by some Team named the Minnesota Vikings…I guess I'm ok with that.
We'll have more updates tomorrow!
Okay, so my blood pressure was still on the high side and Luke grew some more this week and I am swelling a little more in my hands so they took blood to test for pre-eclampsia and she took me out of work and put me on modified bed rest. So don't email me at work anymore! I am home until April! I just got the call back from the doctor and my test results were all fine, I don't have pre-eclampsia so they aren't going to do the C-Section early, but she still wants me on bed rest and I have to go in 2 more times before Wednesday to have my blood pressure checked.
I am going to chill here at home and catch up on the Bachelor and ER while I still can! Oh, and finish Luke's baby blanket!
so it looks like the 28th will be Luke's birthday unless he decides to come on his own – Aunt Chris will probably win the baby pool and Ryan will be able to tell everyone that Luke was born on the same day in history that the Minnesota Vikings were allowed to become a team.
Maybe more later – I suspect that I will be bored soon 🙂

Ryan's posts are so informative aren't they – but let's get real – holy cow 10 pounds 7 oz – and that was last Friday. I think Luke is going to beat his Uncle Michael's birth weight of 11 pounds (lucky me!)
But seriously, I wasn't hoping for a C-Section, kinda bummed in fact – all future children will now also be C-Sections, unless I can find an long lost doctor who will do a regular birth after a C. But the doctor did say that I could have as many as 6 C-Sections, I assured him that would not be necessary 🙂
So we are getting ready for or happy chubby baby to arrive and at least now I know I won't have to wait until Valentine's Day – and sorry Mike, it isn't going to be Ground Hogs Day either, so I guess seeing his shadow won't be a problem.

Kathy's doctor got the results of her ultrasound late yesterday, after talking to her, she wanted Kathy to meet with an OB/GYN specialist which we did today. Because Luke is so big – Yea no surprise there….Sorry Honey! (According to the ultrasound 10 lb 7 oz) the only option at this point is a C-Section, so unless Kathy starts labor prior to next Wednesday – which would lead to an emergency C-Section, Luke will be born shortly after 7:30 AM next Wednesday January 28.
We'll post pictures and details as soon as we are able to.
Let's see if this works – This is from a couple weeks ago of Luke's typical daily acrobatics…I don't know how he hasn't kicked his way out by now!
Today's update comes with some new Ultrasound Pics…
Kathy's Dr. was concerned about Luke's size & that he was measuring too big, so after the 8:45 AM Dr. Appt we had to get an Ultrasound at noon. No word back from her Dr. but the Technician said he is big, but looks very healthy. Luke measured at 10 lbs. 7 oz. on the Ultrasound which the technician said has a variance of 1.5 lbs in either way…hopefully it's on the small side! She also said not to buy newborn diapers…
We'll let you know what we hear from Kathy's Dr. on Monday…Otherwise next Appt. is on Thursday.
Anyone seen my feet? Ya, me neither, but my stupid socks keep falling down and guess what, this time they are staying there. Course with this below zero weather, I am getting cold ankles!
Not much new, still pregnant, waiting for the miraculous "dropping" to occur!
Stay warm out there – I had a little chat with Luke this morning and told him that his 98.6 degree swimming pool was better than out here right now anyway!
Nothing has changed since last week. The information we have from the Dr. last week is that Kathy is 50% effaced and no dialation. Her Dr. still thinks he's going to be a big baby, but her definition of 'big' was 8 lbs.
Kathy's Next Appt. is this coming Friday.
