My new trick – seeing how far into my mouth I can get my foot!

Hello All –

Finally some decent weather here in Minnesota and of course we all have colds.  Luke and I seem to be getting thru it, Ryan is probably not going to make it :)!

 I thought I would throw something out here while I have a chance to be online and Luke is taking a nap. 

Luke continues to be a really good baby.  Lots of smiles and now he is doing a lot of giggling, the best sound in the world!  I hope to get some video up here soon, but I need my techie for that and he is working on the new Braves (Le Sueur that is, not Atlanta) website, or bejeweled -hard to tell!  Luke is now rolling over from his tummy to his back, but gets really upset in his crib because he can't get back.  So he used to sleep thru the night and this week I was up a couple times a night just flipping him back over!  It is funny in the daylight, in the middle of the night it isn't quite as funny!

Our little puker is not letting us down, we go thru our 30 burp clothes in about 3 days (max) and keep in mind that he is in daycare all day long!  Now when he is not puking he is drooling and working on his bottom two teeth and I think one of the top ones too.  He still seems pretty happy thru it all, but anything that he can get in his mouth goes in his mouth.  Someday he hopes to get BOTH fists in there, the thumb isn't enough anymore!

Ryan posted some pictures earlier this week and I think he is starting to look more like a Goggin – there is one picture (I will get it posted) that I think looks just like my brother Michael did.

Speaking of my brother Michael, he and Ryan's sister Kari have agreed to be Luke's Godparents.  He is going to be baptized in Le Sueur at St. Anne's Church on July 12th.  He loves his bath and getting his hair washed so I don't think there will be too much drama.  Course last time we were there for church, he puked on me, my Dad and almost the Engel's in front of us, the floor in our pew, the floor in the back of church.  So I am confident we can add altar to the list next month!

I hope everyone gets outside today, we are going to tool around in the stroller after nap time.  See you all soon hopefully and enjoy summer while it lasts!

Luke had his 4 month doctor's appointment today and he is great, as we suspected!  His official weight is 17 pounds, 4 ounces and he is 25 1/2 inches long!!  The doctor said he definitely did not need cereal until he is at least 5 months old.  So I guess we will just keep doing what we have been doing.

 He had his next round of shots and he didn't like them any more than he did the first time, in fact, I think he liked them less.

Ok – sorry about that – Did I mention I was tired and crabby? 

 Well Luke has slept thru the night again since then so that is fantastic!

I am sure this will be enormous so Ryan will have to fix it 🙂

So we had a good 2 week run of Luke sleeping thru the night.  That ended Sunday night.  But it was fun while it lasted.  Luke and I both have nasty colds (getting better now) of course they came on right before the party.  I am hoping that Luke will go back to sleeping once his cold is better, but right now I am wondering if it wouldn't have been better if he had never done it at all!

Start with the good and move to the rantings….  Ryan's party was a really fun time, I am glad so many of you could make it.  Luke finally got to meet his Great Grandma Vi and Great Grandpa Don, they just got back from Florida and I could be wrong, but I think Grandma Vi liked Luke and he had quite a few smiles for her too!  Luke was really well behaved with all the people and no afternoon nap.

So this week stinks!  Luke hasn't been sleeping, Monday I "worked" on about 3.5 hours of sleep, today I think I am just slightly more than that!  Luke was making all kinds of noise at 3:30 this morning and didn't stop when I gave him back his pacifier, course I couldn't sleep thru it, so around 4:30 I broke my cardinal rule and brought him to bed with me.  Mostly because there is too much crap on the couch for me to move to lay there!  So we slept on and off until about 5:30 and we were up.

Below are my rantings, feel free to stop reading here.

• I'm exhausted and Crabby
• So is Luke
• I am wearing my least puked on pants that I pulled from the laundry
• I have been up basically since 3:30 and Ryan finally got up at 6:30 and asked why I was so late – needless to say he got his head bit off
• I had a Reese's Peanut Butter Egg for Breakfast and wonder why I have a stomach ache
• I have a nasty sore on my nose from blowing it too much
• I have bags under my eyes
• I am about 2 weeks behind on my stuff here at work
• I have a bunch of jewelry stuff to do
• I have at least 4 loads of laundry to do (see dirty pants comment)
• With my cold my milk supply has taken a total nose dive = hungry baby!
• Luke puked down to his toes and he was laying on his stomach so I have to change his crib sheet again (2nd time this week)
• Did I mention that I am exhausted and CRABBY?
• I am so tired of fast food I don't even want to see a french fry (this is quite unusual for me!)
• And I think the best news is that my boss gets these updates so I will probably get in trouble for blogging at work!

Okay – I am sorry for complaining, but I am failing at my life today and I need a nap and a pacifier!

I brought Grandpa Steve a new hat!

Yes, Luke has given us the full treatment this week with his sleeping schedule.  We started out pretty rough and ended up awesome!  Last Sunday we had Sather Easter/April Birthday celebration at Grandma and Grandpa Sather's and Luke was pretty cranky, he wasn't interested in having a nap.  When we got home around 4 or so, he totally crashed and napped all evening and slept until 3:45 am and didn't go back to sleep until 5:30 which is when I need to get in the shower for work, so that was a rough day for me.  We picked him up from day care to find that he had slept all day.  So that night (Mon to Tues) he was up from 12:45 – 3:15 or something like that.  I even woke Ryan up for some of this, not that he really woke up, but I tried and he was in some hot water.  Thankfully Luke wasn't crabby, but I was.  It only made it worse that I was up at 3:45 the previous morning.  And the monitor wasn't working.  Finally, I just put Luke in his bed and because the monitor wasn't working I slept on his floor for about an hour and tried again with the monitor.  I think Ryan heard me that time because some profane language might have been used.  He got the monitors working and I was able to go to bed for an hour before the alarm went off.  Two rough days!  That was actually my birthday too, so we all were in bed around 9:00 and Luke slept really good that night so we finally got some sleep.

 Then!!!!!  Thurs night to Friday he slept from 10-5  YEAH!!!  Friday we were at Steve and Kathy's again and didn't get home until late, but he slept from 1-9:30!!!!  And last night he slept from 9:30 to 7!!  This is awesome!!  I am sure that I just jinxed myself, but I am so excited about getting some sleep!

Luke is very active and can support his weight on his legs, he loves to stand.  He is super smiley and makes a lot of sounds.  He is supporting his head and back really well so we put him in the jumper thing and he loves it (not the doorway kind, like and exer-saucer, but it bounces).  He is reaching for toys now and growing quite the funny little personality.  I am not ashamed to tell you that he is a Momma's Boy!!
